    Default 2000 Merc EFI

My 2000 merc EFI, get a intermittent beep when running hard or in rough water usually after a hard wave. Best I can guess it is the low oil sensor. I know O/I can be a pain on these ole mercs guess that is why Merc offers the block it off kit???. Was hoping someone would have a suggestion other than pull system and mix oil/gas? Seems just a bit more floatation or?????? might Correct it, tank on motor is full. Just a anoying beep when i hit a bit rough. Thanks in advance.

The oil level sensor circuit is also tied into the Water separator full indicator. Have you changed to filter lately? Could be water in that too.

Wondering if your pop off valves might have crud in them maybe? Mine goes off if I run through mud sometimes,,,I just clean them out periodically,,,check thermostats too

Hopefully 3rd try is charm???? Have never encountered issue with poppit valve, but looked on youtube will check. Motor appears to pee correctly and temp gauge looks fine. We have very little mud down here in the hills, mostly pure rock. Thanks

Only other thing I can think of is to inspect that gear that drives the oil injection,,,may have some teeth missing,,,it’s made of plastic type material and has alot to be desired,,,that generally why folks do the by pass and mix their own fuel,,,mines been replaced so I won’t mess with it yet,,,,but if I ever have an issue like your talking about,,,I’ll inspec5 mine and bypass it quickly before catastrophic damage occurs,,,mine is a 97 merc efi 200…
And if you decide to changeover,,,,you save weight by removing oil tanks and end up with a lot more room in boat and engine compartment,,,,it’s easy to mix fuel,,,,,it’s a lot cheaper then having that gear replaced,,,,

On a brighter note, messed with it a bit this afternoon the on engine tank was 1/2 to 3/4" down, did have the 3 gal a bit low on a rough run a while back may have got a suck of air??? Hooked up hose, and properly bled tank on motor. Off to Stockton in the morning, with forecast wind should know??? any one up to a tow Will know more tomorrow.
