Too far off the water, with the bimini top it was just a big sail and couldn't get big enough anchors to hold it (that I could haul in/out). Even with big electric up front it was just a big pain to fish out of. Only thing I liked was when we stayed anywhere for a week or more it was nice to just walk to Dock, get in and go.

The walk on a go part would definitely be a plus. I am going to have to consider the others. Thank you for your answer

I have a friend who guides with a 24' Pontoon boat. He takes out 4-5 clients at a time. Yes, wind can be a challenge, however there are ways to overcome. he drops two Danforth anchors, bow and stern, to hold teh boat over brushpiles. Also has a 112lb thrust/36volt TM. Both hold really well. the double anchor works the best. he uses about 150' of rope on each anchor. The longer the line, the more holding power.
Having said that. No way I'd go out in 3' swells on the toon. That gets to be a heck of a ride.

3' swells is a pretty good ride in a lot of boats. Been out in bigger than that on the salt water but it was certainly in a more capable boat.

I have a 16' Deep V and 3' swells are no big deal. Just drive with caution. Fishing isn't too bad either as long as I keep the bow into the wind. 5' and bigger gets my heart pounding.

The debit card has taken all the hard labor out of throwing money at a boat.

The lake and river system I fish. If you see 3' swells it's a bad day. Hard to get that much wind down between the mountians. That kind of wave action would destroy most of the floating docks on this lake. In the salt that was a fairly decent and calm day.

Worst day or time in salt was always in between tides what we called a rip tide,,,makes for some very treacherous times
