What I hear is that people have used Seafoam with old fuel lines and thought their old fuel lines broke down putting tiny pieces of fuel line into carbs. I can see how that can be true, I replace fuel lines every 2 years. I also use a water separator/ fuel filter just before the engine, still plenty of fuel line after filter... Ethanol in gasoline has been an issue for lots of boat owners.
Come to think of it I had to replace the fuel pump on a Yamaha 25 I had years ago after a healthy dose of Seafoam. It was a new to me motor. It could have been purely coincidental as well. It try to not run ethonal in my small engines or outboards. I am sure you end up getting some
