i would just get a new nylon lock nut
Don't have it near me. Either plastic or fiberglass. It's fairly strong without flex.

I have seen the insert soften do to chemicals or heat in machinery. It takes more heat than a trolling motor would produce while submerged
The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
I just installed a T-H Marine Prop Nut / Stabilizer. It has a large O-Ring that engages the outer flange of the hub securing the prop while dampening vibrations. So far I like it, my trolling motor runs quieter now.

The new prop came with new nut. All that I had left was the shaft so good thing a new one was included.

Is that a hand controlled TM?
I'd rather be fishing.
