I've never used Seafoam but I've used Amsoil Quickshot. Had a 9.9 that was running ruff and wouldn't idle good and used some Quickshot in it. The motor run great now.

Anybody have a review/opinion on Seafoam Marine Pro?
I ordered a can to run through my old merc 9.8 to maybe knock some carbon loose and clean the jets.

I'm wondering if they just re-labeled SeaFoam to gain a greater sales base. I've used ordinary SeaFoam for years as both a carbon preventative and as a carbon shock treatment.

According to the MSDS's for the 2 products, the formulation is different.

From my understanding they added a stabilizer to the old formula for ethanol gas when stored. I use it in all my engines.

It will blow out the gunk. Be careful though if you have varnish in the actual carb bowl. It will dislodge it and maybe stick your jets for a bit. That loosened crud could plug a jet.
I like seafoam for cleaning carbs and for cleaning out engines but truthfully after switching to non-ethanol gas and synthetic 2 stroke oil I have not had issues with carbs or heavy carbon build-up in about five years. I was rebuilding carbs every spring and early fall at one point.

I use it in all my engines, outboard s, mower, weedeaters...ect. I had my carbs on my Merc 60 2 stroke 5 years ago and today after the first start it will crank as fast as a 4 stroke. I do use non-ethanol gas.

I've used it for years. Good stuff!! And I have to use E-10 or make a very long drive.

What is the difference between Stabil and Seafoam. I had always thought that Stailbil was a fuel conditioner and Seafoam was more of cleaning/decarbonizing agent. Is there a benefit of using one over the other???
