Skeet look it up on boats.net by serial number. Should pull up parts diagrams showing parts and how they are assembled. Should be able to just pull that cover off and should have a gasket between it and the head which is probably what is leaking.
‘96 Mariner magnum 40, leaking water from top plug area. Have done some research and seen a few options. Any of y’all gone thru this and what can you tell me. Thanks in advance.

Do both gaskets while you are there. Shouldn't be terrible to do. For my motor they make a gasket kit that comes with the water jacket and head gasket.
