So I have run into a very minor engine issue (1999-2000 Yamaha C60) where when I am just idling for fairly long periods of time the engine overheat alarm will come on. Still wizzing water and in fact I just replaced my impeller and water pump gaskets, plenty of oil too. What I have found to "break" it from the alarm situation is just run it WOT on plane for a bit and it quits. It doesn't do it every time I idle around either.

It has just started happening to me and I lay the blame right at the feet of the fact I just installed a new-to-me SI unit and I idle around looking for stuff more.

Finally getting around to my question(s), I have had pretty good luck (after a few years of having to rebuild carbs) with Mystik synthetic blend 2 stroke oil. Normally I get it at Bass Pro but since we haven't been traveling much I have not made it there (if it is even open) to get oil. I started looking on Amazon and found Star Brite Super Premium (blue jug) synthetic blend 2 stroke oil and just today Royal Purple Full Synthetic 2 stroke oil. Has anybody run the Royal Purple and how did you like it? I use Royal Purple in my truck and like it a lot. My only apprehensions about are A) price and B) there is a review on Amazon stating that the jug says not for use below freezing. My fishing boat is also my duck boat and it sees well below freezing temps every year. In fact my boating season is weighted to the fall and winter months not the spring and summer.

Is anyone using the Star Brite super premium?

And I do plan to examine my oil injection system (I know people recommend pulling them off and doing pre-mix) to see if there is an issue that one or more lines to the low speed jets on the carbs are an issue.

Thanks in advance.
