25 hp suzuki o/b
I have a 2016 4 stroke 25 h/p Suzuki O/b. Sometimes on starting, the engine will emit a small cloud of smoke. It seems to happen more often after the engine was idling for a period prior to shutting off. I think I read somewhere that could be caused by build up of oil in the emission system because of extended idling. No change in engine oil level has been seen and the engine runs extremely well otherwise. Have talked to Suzuki authorized repair centers and they don't seem to know anything about (or don't care) what could be causing this smoking condition. Has anyone else experienced this or care to comment???

With out seeing motor I’m going to venture a guess it’s just residual unburned gas left in exhaust system from prolonged idle. Then when you fire it up all of it burns at same time. 2 things I would do, first replace plugs second when you idle along like that before you shut motor off, put in neutral and rev motor for about30 seconds then shut it down.

Thats about the same info I read on another forum and now that I think about it I'm reasonably sure that it only occurs after extended idling. Thanks for your reply and I will pay more attention to the motor after idling to see if the smoking continues.
