Follow up: Ordered the parts, and everything came in yesterday. So, yesterday afternoon, I started the repair/replace process. I started with the water pump, and to my surprise, the "water pump assembly" does NOT contain the impeller. Now, this is my fault - I should have selected the link just to see what all was included. After talking to their GREAT customer service, they are going to take back what I ordered, and I have added another order for the parts that I need to replace. Luckily, or unluckily, I already had the lower unit off, and the water pump disassembled when I figured out that I didn't have the impeller. Well, it was still pumping good, and so I greased everything up, and reassembled, and will save the impeller for installation this fall.
I proceeded to the fuel pump assembly, and that came apart without too much trouble. The reassembly was slightly tricky with basically two diaphragms, gaskets, and other parts, but seemed good. Reassembled the pump, changed fuel filter, changed plugs, and changed lower end grease while at it.
I put the muffs on, and fired up the motor - as expected, she purred like a kitten. So, today, I put her on the water. Without touching the bulb, she fired right up, and ran very well. Something must have been limiting fuel (probably fuel filter as this is the first time I have changed in 13 years) as I ended with about another MPH or two at WOT.
Thanks again for all the help. This is truly a great website with lots of willing and able people offering advice. Thanks!!
