bad boat lift
Lift has rusted and broke and has to be replaced. My question is can the lift be replaced with lifting straps. These have a 12,000 pound rating and is what they are designed for. Has anyone done this swap. New lift 1700.00 versus 400.00 for straps. Will be lifting a 521 ranger with a 250 merc. Dealer selling straps says contact boat manf. which has been tried. Left ranger boats messages 3 times in three days and still no response. Never had this issue out of ranger boats before

Is the original lift repairable?. The straps exposed to the sunlight and the weather will degrade them within a couple of years

Lift in very bad shape. Front strap would not have any exposure to sun. Back would have late evening sun.

Just curious did your old lift have bunks I would be concerned about the straps causing dips in the hull after time a boat sitting on a wrong trailer can cause issues. What might work better if you can find one and rig it an old cargo net.
