I would suggest going ahead and finish breaking period. The reason is they have figured out the amount of time it takes to wear in gears and seat rings over years of test bed running. If you change now you could still have fine metal particles in foot where gears are still going to exhibit some wear. So you would end up running another year with those contaminants running through your gears. Same thing on engine block with all those moving parts that are going to have wear.
Good advice. That break-in period is important.
