If using a small portable tank u want it to vent. Fixed tanks have vents. Now if u have fixed tank and can't get to prime or portable both have anti-siphon valves that can go bad. If u have a fuel/water separator check. Passages in filter base
Gas tank cap on tight and vent screw in so the tank can pressurize when first priming?

hdhntr thanked you for this post
Go to line heading straight to tank and see if u can get fuel, then u eliminate from there to motor
Try putting zip ties on bulb ends along with clamps . I had similar problem with a Walmart replacement . Mechanic said they were hard to seal . Was a cheap fix on my last motor and cured my problem . gone 4 stroke now .
thanks all. tried several suggestions and now will let the mechanic handle it. he is mobile to LSL and need to establish a relationship anyway. plus he is sponsor of our anglers club and is reasonable. appreciate as always the responses you get here at CDC!
It is good to support sponsors
