    Default Tilt pin

For some reason my 1982 10hp did not come with power tiltTilt pin
I am trying to come up with an easy way to prevent the pin from sinking when dropped. I change the setting often on the water. Thinking an attached chain maybe.

How about wiring one of those floating key chains to the end of the pin?

Go to hardware store like Lowe’s. Get a piece of stainless cable that’s pretty small. Get a couple of the squeeze clamps to fit. Drill hole on pull end of pin. Insert one end of cable and then clamp down. Do same thing with other end to motor or hull. Give yourself enough slack so you can remove and install easily.

You can buy the cables ready made on the internet if you don't want to make them yourself. I bought some to hold safety pins on my trailers that were vinyl covered.
