One of the problems with the automotive fuel line is that it tends to kink and restrict the fuel flow. This happens very easily when the motor is constantly turning back and forth. It also does not like the sun either. After a few months in the sun, it will start to get mushy on the outside and work it's way inward. Not to mention, it's illegal for me to install it.

I forgot to mention. If you have any Mercury gray fuel line with red letters, you better get rid of it immediately. If the inner liner hasn't separated, it isn't going to be long. A lot of people think that the problem is ethanol in the fuel but it's not, the majority of the time. The problem is with the adhesive that is used to bond the inner and outer liners together. Has anyone of you guys ever spilled gas on your carpet? If you have, you know what petroleum does to the glue. It turns it to mush and your carpet comes up. That s what is happening to a lot of fuel lines. That and people not paying attention when they push it over a primer bulb or fuel connector.
