That Johnson should be turning between 5300 - 5500 sounds like you need 15pitch you move 200 rpm for every 2 pitch drop

It is an 05 motor. It will turn probly 5500 but I thought that was a little high so I usully back it off a bit.
That motor is probably rated to run max rpm between 5500-5700 and closer you run it to that the better it runs at wide open throttle. That's where it will build its most power. I'm thinking that the right prop for that motor should be a 13 X 15-17. I'll do a little more research to try to confirm that. That 11.5 just dosnt sound right to me for that motor and especially almost every serch I do comes up as obsolete or no cross to any other manufactures prop.

what would you say top speed should be? It basicly looks like a Bass Tracker, has single console, 2 livewells.
Delta Props in Cleves Ohio is a good shop, they've been around as long as I can remember.
I'm sure they can fix you up with what ever you need. I haven't been there in quite a few years but I do know the used to repair aluminum.
I don't know where in Ohio you live but Delta is in the SW corner of the state.

According to everything I can find if you have a 13 spline shaft which I suspect you have this should be the prop you need for your motor. If you by chance have the 14 spline then it takes a 12 which is also listed in this link. I'm thinking for the size of your boat and guessing at your load the 15 should put you right at the upper end of your operating rpm which is where you want it. Also guessing speed should fall between 32-36 mph. It's awful hard to prop a boat from long distance. Just going from Experiance on boats I have owned or worked on. One thing for sure you have the wrong prop for that motor right now.

Ok, prop was on it when I bought the boat. It will run 29 or 30 at wide open with 1 person in boat at probably 5500 rpm. It gets on plane quick but I figured it should run a few mph faster. A buddy of mine has a 17ft boat with a 40 that runs upper 20s
