Toyota is hard to beat on durability. But fuel
mileage is not good towing.
Looking to purchase new truck soon. Don't want a fullsize and have been looking at the toyota and colorada. Any comments, experience, etc. regarding ride, economy, durability etc. of either of these???

Something to keep in mind, used Colorados are much cheaper than used Tacomas.

I recently went truck shopping and like you did not want a full sized truck. I liked the Tacoma but the salesman met me on the lot and the first thing he said that price in the window was price of the truck, meaning they would not negotiate on the price. I looked at all the mid-sized pickups and Jeeps. I ended up with a crew cab Nissan Frontier 4X4. Fully loaded with all kinds of doo-dads and a 6300 pound towing capacity. Out the door under $30K.

Old enough to know better and way too old to care!
Drive a Colorado everyday for work, and we have over 500 in our fleet. They are in the shop quite a bit. I had a Tacoma that was totalled, and they are expensive, but best truck I have ever had.

Just bought a 2018 Colorado about a month ago. I like it a lot, V6 is strong and gets about 24 mpg. Has plenty of power to pull my Tracker boat. Drove the Toyota and to me Colorado drives better and has more room. Also there are some good Chevy deals goin on right now, Toyota just don’t deal.

I’m looking to buy a new truck this fall in the mid-size range. Our family has driven Toyotas for years. They make a great, dependable product. Decided on the 4WD Colorado and here’s why. The Colorado V-6 produces more horsepower and torque. I pull an 18’ al bass boat and wanted the most power I could get in a mid-size truck. I have a Silverado 1500 right now and just don’t need a truck that big. Another factor in my decision is that through my work, I’m eligible for the GM supplier pricing program. Toyota does not participate. Also, as Jiggin John said – Toyota just don’t deal.

As anyone thought about switching to some equivalent size SUVs? I don't really need a truck, only use it to pull Tracker 175. Would be nice to be able to lock some things up. Currently have 2005 Dakota. What would people suggest?
