I have a 22' with a 115 Yamaha 4 stroke on it and get 28 mph. I is an older on with the smaller pontoons on it. I it had the larger pontoons under it, it probably would do better.
I have a 22 foot pontoon with a 115 Merc on it. I had a 60 hp merc. Top speed was about 17 mph with the 60. The 115 does not do much better. Shouldn't I get more speed out of the 115?

Cray is on the right track. You have a set-up problem.
I'd rather be fishing.
I got 2 pondtoon boats #1 1960 duracraft 28 ft with a 2003 40 hp mercury runs 23 mph and #2 homemade (custom built) tritoon 20ft with a 115hp yamaha that runs 28 mph.
I much rather #1 two pondtoon over the triton .
Thanks everyone. I have to go to the lake to check most of these answers. Will report back.
I bought a 22 ft fishing pontoon with a Johnson 140 that bogged at wide open throttle. I ordered lifting strakes out of Texas and had a local welding shop weld them on. Top speed 30 and runs on top of water instead of plowing thru it. Total cost was around $500.00 to buy and have welded on. As soon as I can find another log it will become a triton.
Clean logs... 21 ft toon with 60hp Bigfoot..14x11 prop.... 15mph, 18.5 after cleaning logs.
Check engine height.
Can you see cavitation plate when running and trimmed?
Your results on prop, height and rpms?

I am sure the 4 series 29 batteries and bimini top hurts it too.

I never thought cleaning them would make any difference, much less that much.
