    What is the serial # so the year can be verified?

    Problem solved fellas. The new switch box was the culprit. Turns out that these Merc 9.8s were wired 2 different ways. One way, the brown and white tie together. The other way has the browns tie together. I found the correct wiring and it starts in 1 pull.
