Heres the boat scale scale chart for the ulterra
Lee, that chart is BS using one the way we do over here. I pulled a 2mph for 8 hours Friday pre-fishing for the fruit jar and there is no way a 24V would have done it in my 18.5 foot stratos.

I've heard of guys using those but wasn't sure how big a difference it would make. I definitely need to start looking into these before I order. Where did you get your batteries? I'm ordering this boat so can you get these from the dealer or something you need to get elsewhere and then add after the fact. Thanks for the info. Really appreciate it

Love my ultera and would not change it. I fish out of a champion walleye boat and use the 24 volt model and I can pull jigs all day at 1 mph. I do not have room for 3 batteries so I am limited to the 24. If I was pulling cranks and had the room for the 3 batteries then go with the 112. You can order the boat without the batteries and buy your choice.

How easy is is it to convert mine system from a 24v to a 36 v?

I agree, I had a 50lb thrust on my 17.5 Crappie Master and the least wind it wasn't near enough to move into the wind. It was almost like I was going backwards. Went to an 80lb and now no problem. OH if you don't know a Crappie Master is a glass boat

Not an issue, just another jumper wire and room for the third battery. If your wiring is running a 24v good now then it will have no problem with the 36v, it pulls less amps.

Thank you. I've looked at several videos and it seems fairly simple

I noticed most post in this thread are at least a couple of years old.
My questions are, how is the Ulterra holding up for you, are you still happy with it?
If you use the foot pedal is it as responsive as a cable steer?
If you were buying today which one Ulterra or Ultrex?
Most of my fishing is with jigs in stump fields, brush piles, trees etc. with some trolling and of course night fishing with minnows.
I have a cousin who loves his Ultrex but I would love to get rid of the clutter on the front deck. I am 71 and still in good health, but do have some
mobility issues, can't move as quick as i used to.

    thanks for your replies.
