What is something that can be put on the raw aluminum of an older Bass Tracker that will protect it from water staining? I acid washed my boat a month ago and it looked great. After 4 or 5 fishing trips it looks worse than it did before I washed it. It is stained almost black below the water line. I thought about waxing it but I don't know how that will hold up.

Get yourself a spray bottle of Zing pontoon cleaner. They say to spray it on- I dump a little in a bucket, brush it on, spray it off. Do my pontoon boat in 1/2 hour.

I use the same product. MaryKate Aluminex, Amazon sells it. I buy a gallon, dilute it 1.5 parts water to 1 part aluminex. Spray it on, making sure to "wet/ wash" the entire aluminum area, then hose it off. As cane pole said, my pontoons are clean, but dull, but it's how they looked the day it was new. 1 gallon cleans 24' triple pontoon for two seasons. You can buy premixed, but concentration is lower, doesn't clean as well. Buy the concentrate, mix as I suggest, or stronger , it does work.

The Aluminex does not require any scrubbing, the cleaner does the work.

I use Star Brite to clean my aluminum boat. I love how it’s designed for easy application because of its sprayer. I’m not a fan of cheap products as most of them can’t achieve what I want. With this cleaner, I don’t have to worry about mixture ratio and dilution.

Will any of the above suggestions work on my olivedrab painted polarcraft jon boat, I don't know if the surfaces are just dirty or the paint is just dull and needs more than just cleaning, any other suggestion to restore new look to the olivedrab paint???
