Default Triton TA 196 Bilge Pump Issue

I was wondering if there is anyone out there that has the Triton TA 196 and could shed some insight on the boats bilge pumps.

It is my understanding from reading the manuals, I have 2. An automatic and manual. Neither are working. Can only find one of them and I think its the manual one.

Has anyone had to replace the bilge pumps?

It may be like on my SeaArk...one pump with two switches...automatic float switch built into the pump....then a switch on console to turn on manually.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

"G" may be right ... according to this : Triton Boats 2008 TA-196 SC Crappie ... which lists an "automatic bilge pump".

If you can see the bilge pump ... tell us the brand and model number or look it up yourself, and see what the designation is ... manual or automatic.

If it does not come on with the switch, disconnect the wires where they are tied into the extension wires & connect those wires directly to the battery. If it still don't work, replace the unit. If it does work, check the wiring & connections to the switch and the fuse in the fuse panel (or inline fuse, if it happens to have one). If you turn it on with the switch and hear a noise, but no water is being pumped out, the unit may have picked up some trash and is clogged at the impeller. Also check and make sure the unit is firmly & securely seated into the base ... it will "air lock" if the unit isn't properly seated.

It also may have just simply burnt out, or the impeller may have deteriorated (if it's old) and a broken impeller tooth has locked it up.

I recently had the same problem on my 1999 ProCraft ... and it had deteriorated from age/heat and the motor was burnt out. It was a simple job of removing the old unit & replacing it with one I had on hand (spare from a previous boat).
