    Default Sea Foam Products

Well, after reading this article last week http://www.crappie.com/crappie/mecha...utboard-2.html I decided to give it a try on (2) of my outboards. A 1991 5hp and a 2002 90 hp both are Mercury 2 strokers. The results were amazing! The little 5hp was struggling to keep running; it would surge intermittently. I used the seafoam spray in the carbs about 1/4 of a can. It run's smooth at WOT now and starts with half a pull. I used the sea foam/gas mixture on the 90hp 1 gal. gas /12oz sea foam; in the driveway the smoke was awful. I did this 2X. Then, took it to the river and ran at about 2500-2700 rpm. You should have seen the looks on everyones face when I departed the no wake zone; there was still a lot of smoke. I went up river about 3 miles and returned no smoke, easy start and the motor just purrrrrs. Thanks too all who contributed to that article!

I mix it in my 2016 25hp Yamaha whether it needs it or not. But I also add star tron and burn pure unleaded and it's,probably overkill. However, can't hurt anything and the motor pures and starts like a charm. And the reason I use it is because I had a 9.8 merc forever on one of my Jon boats and it quit running on me as I never used any additives at all and took it in to my favorite merc mechanic and he had to take the motor apart to clean a clogged exhaust port out that was closed off by carbon buildup. Nothing more was wrong with that motor and a lot of it was attributed to burning E-10 gas. He recommended my adding the 2 and I also switched to pure unleaded gas in all my small motors. Since then, everything I have, weed wackers, chain saws, generator, lawnmotor, atv, and boat motors start with one pull about every time, no matter how long they sit, and haven't had to due tune ups, just change the spark plugs and service the engines however then need serviced. I also run a water separator filter on the gas line to the Yamaha and change it every season I service the motor. All my gas for small motors have the seafoam and star tron in the gas too.

Yes. 2010 Mercury 115 Four Stroke. I alternate tanks from spring-fall between seafoam and Startron. I use marine Stabil in the wintertime as severe weather may keep me off the water for longer intervals and that's the product I'm most comfortable with for overwinter fuel stabilizing if I had to be off he water rode several weeks for some reason.

So you sprayed the spray into the carbs while the engine was running or did you remove the carbs and soak them?

Yes I sprayed the "Deep Creep" into the carbs .There's a detailed explanation in the 1st post ;just click on the highlighted link. I believe some were using 3gal gas to 1can Seafoam (3:1). I used 1:1 ratio
