I would think a 45" shaft would work fine... I have a 2072 polar kraft and mine is set at 45" although it is a 52"

Hey everyone,
I was wanting to know if anyone has this boat, a G3 1652 jon or one really similar. I got it used a couple of months ago and am about to cut down a 60" Terrova shaft and wanted to know what length to cut it at? Looks like 52" is ballpark but that seems really long still. Since I have not had it in the water yet, I have no idea where the waterline is to measure to so I can go off of Minn Kota's chart.
Anyone have this boat with a trolling motor that knows their shaft length?
Thank you!

I called G3 and they said a 45 also. Since I am cutting it to what length I want, I might cut it at 50 to be on the safe side. Thanks for the info mgrimm

Mine is 52 on a 15 Wareagle. It does stick up some but I have gotten used to it. Not really in the way and I like the extra leverage when retrieving with the longer shaft.
I have a 48" MK shaft on a 1648 G3 and picks here. Shaft length is plenty.

I have a 175 Tracker and a 45" and I was in some rough water and the prop was coming out of the water. I would cut it to 50 and try it for a while. You can always shorten it again if needed but, it would really be hard to make it longer if you cut it too short.
Measure where and how it will lay in the stowed position.
It matters at the ramp if it hangs over

I have mine on a sliding mount so it can be moved back for docking or loading.
