    Default Shifter removal questin

I am needing to remove the shifter from the piece of aluminum it's mounted on to replace the carpet on the aluminum piece and not sure of how to do it. Looks as if I need to remove the handle, then remove a couple plastic pieces/ covers to get to the bolts that's holding it on to the aluminum. I just don't want to take something loose inside the shifter and parts go flying out.Is the screw that I have the screwdriver on what I need to remove to get the shifter handle off ? Thanks for any help.Name: IMG_1374.jpg

Push in the neutral button in the center of handle, pull shift into full reverse, carefully pry the center button out with a couple is small flat blade screw drivers , under that button is a retaining bolt, 5/8 socket will take it out, then remove the covers, lower first then upper, you'll see three screws that hold the outer plate to the control box, aluminum peice , then remove outer plate, when going back together reverse sequence, care reinstalling handle , make sure it goes back in the same position you removed it from and check for neutral lock before putting retainer bolt back in, a little trick is to put electrical tape over the socket opening then put bolt in so tape stops it from sliding into the socket , reinstall button after you check for proper operation
