    Default Crumbling insulation fix?

All the insulation in the cowl/shroud is disintegrating. Big mess with all the tiny pieces. Should I just remove it all and run without? Replace with some easy diy stuff?

I'd remove it and run without it. I wouldn't want it getting sucked into the air intake.

I removed ALL the insulation from a 135 Johnson because it got sucked into the carbs. It was noisier at mid-throttle but no other ill effects.

Getting in the carbs is my major concern. The noise wont bother me if it doesn't bother the fish I will vac it out, remove whats left, and get on with my life. Thanks fellas.
