    Hehe! Yeah, a genuine racing engine would be a better choice. Some thing like a Briggs Local Option 206. These little 200cc motors don’t; really have the power to get you up on a plane and run. The problem is a 13 hp 390cc motor is way too heavy for my boat.

    What size boat do you have? Have you ever considered upgrading to a slightly larger one?

    I have a 1236 jon boat. If I do upgrade I'll build something myself. Right now I'm leaning forward a displacement hull anyway. In that case a bigger motor wouldn't do me any good. Right now I need a workhorse not a racehorse. Gallons-per-hour trumps miles-per-hour.
