    Default 2004 Optimax fuel filter?


    Are there different versions of the filter with the red top like the one below? trying to order one online but on Amazon it doesn't really specify if there is a difference.

    Mercury has superseded that filter for unknown reasons. There are also aftermarket versions. They all cross over and are specific to the Mercury VST. If it looks like the one in the pic, it will work. Be sure to get the tool. They can be difficult to remove/install without it.
    I'd rather be fishing.
