Grease for propeller
I got a new prop because I boogered up the one on my boat, instructions call for marine grease, I don't have any. Can I use any old grease to get by, at least, temporarily, lol?

yes, but they make prop shaft grease

All I've ever used is wheel bearing grease

The grease is for an anti corrosion factor. So that the hub splines of the prop do not seize to the propshaft. Any type of grease will be better than nothing. Salt water applications need more attention to specific marine grease. Removing the prop at least once a year to inspect for the presence of line wrapped around the shaft at the seal will be of more importance than the use of any specific grease.
I'd rather be fishing.

Use an anti seize lubricant. The grease isn't for its lubrication properties so much as for keeping the prop from seizing to the shaft. I use Bostik Never Seize.. If its good enough for the U.S. Navy its good enough for me.
