    Default Rear deck attachment build.

Looking for some ideas on how or best way to build a deck for Stern of boat. It's to low for person in rear to fish comfortable casting. Need to put hole in middle or some kind of attachment to set seat down in. Needs to be very stout 300lb+ man fish on it easily. Was thinking make it out of advantech 3/4 flooring cover in carpet.

The pic is off internet of boat just like mine. It has a lip you can see all the way around I think could set platform right on top of. I wanna make it comfortable for my buddy and his son coming down to fish with me.

Go to TinBoats.net • Index page.

Under the forum titled "Jon and V boat Conversions and Modifications" they're are dozens of pictures and methods people have used to add or raise decks in boats. While the forum is for Tin (aluminum) boats the principles are the same no matter what the boat is made of.

If your wanting something that will last, look at Penski Board. Its a very strong and light weight fiberglass composite. Several boat builders have used this for transoms and stringer systems. Holds screws well also, very much like working with wood. Build what you want then some mat with resin, good for 20 years.
It wouldn’t hurt to place a jack under the seat base. Look at the bass cat and skeeter boats web page to see what I am suggesting.
Composite one used to carry it, or one of their sister companies might be closer to you.
