Had boat out over the fourth ran it all weekend had no trouble. All speeds worked fine. Took it out tonight and for some reason the motor does not work No power at all. Has anyone heard about this problem? Does mot or guide have this issue? Units only a year old

check for tripped breaker, blown fuse, bad connection, do all the easy stuff first I accidentally hit the off/on switch on the side of the foot pedal one time and it ruined a day of fishing.

My problem on my pontoon was a bad fuse holder. Power in fuse good no power out changed fuse holder all good again.
I feel like a idiot should have proof read. Motor works on speeds 3 -5 just 1 and 2 are not working. Just strange to me how sitting on the trailer it went bad. Has anyone had this happen or is there something I should look for? Thanks. .
Turn over your pedal and check the connections on the switch. Make sure you have a good connection on each one. Also look to see if the wires on a couple of connections are burned from heat. They could be black or insulation be melted. A bad connection creates heat. Also if that all looks ok the contacts in switch could be bad.
Found out wasn't switch after all. Seems the speed coil in the motor burnt up...any one else ever hear or have this happen?
Yes, and from what I have seen usually caused by running motor to high in the water. Close to the surface, prop pulls water away from housing causing motor to lose cooling. Those motors use the surrounding water to keep everything cool. Also could be caused by running out of water which I doubt you do.

I don't think it's running to high in the water as its about 2 ft down in the water motor is only 2 years old just curious is this is a common problem or did I get a bad one. Can't really afford to spend 150 on ot all the time...lol does min Kota have the same issues?
Really not a issue you see very often on either motor that I know of. I am going to post a link with a phone number. Call this guy and explain your situation to him. He is a board sponsor and very helpful with helping solve problems.
