Thread: Rollers ?

I have looked this up and the best that I came up with was the bunks are suppose to hold the weight of the boat and the rollers are to keep the keel of the boat from hitting the trailer when unloading the boat. I had wondered the same thing because my boat does not sit on the rollers and it also doesn't have a adjustment to adjust up to the bottom of the boat. I have a tracker pro16 that came on the trailer like that. Maybe others will chime in here with more information if I am wrong.

I've read that the hull should not rest or sit on the rollers as they can cause indentations/dips in the hull from actually sitting on the small spot created by the roller for extended periods. No experience with roller trailers, only bunks.

The rollers are just to aid you getting on the trailer. The boat should rest on the bunks. This way you can pull the boat out without the boat sliding off the trailer. If the boat is wanting to slide back when you pull out your getting the trailer too deep. You should be able to feel the boat slide up on the bunks.
