I put then new CMC on my Jon Boat (15). It is fast up and down. No trim to it per se. I doubt a trim gauge would help much, 3 quick bumps on the switch (up) is my sweet spot after plane. I sure like it. Lots better than lifting on a gut buster.
I will be adding a tilt and trim. DO I get the gauge or not? Why or why not?
Thanks.

I'm with canepole. You will feel it. But out of all the boats I've had I've never had a tilt gauge. Some may swear by it. I run by sound, feel, and tach. If it adds money to the purchase...I'd say no...if it comes with it, well by all means install it. I may not look at that gauge...but I DO love lots of gauges!!
"But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 25:15
Only 2 gauges are important, tach and water pressure. If i had one I would never look at it, find myself now only looking at water pressure and the tach sometimes as I am not likely to over rev. Wide open throttle I trim up till the water pressure drops to 15psi and role!!

I just use the tach....trim gauge is just more stuff to fix lol My cmc 130 is 20 years old now - never had a single problem with it and still works as good as new
