    Default Sealed hubs

About a year ago I purchased a new Majic Tilt trailer for my boat. This is the first trailer I've had new in many years. The wheels have sealed hubs, something new to me. I asked a rep. At Majic Tilt about maintainance of the bearings. He told me no maintainance was required. This just doesn't seem possible to me and I was wondering if I could get some input from someone that has experience with this new to me hub system.

Couple of different kinds, oil bath and sealed bearing. Both are Maintaince free if installed properly. We used both kinds on big trucks and trailers last couple of years I worked. Ran some 2-3 hundred thousand miles with no problems.

Mine are sealed hubs. That makes me feel better. I guess the water won't get to the bearings.

The only sealed bearing i know of is made by Dexter Axle and is not recommended for boat trailers. Its called the Nevr Lube. Dexter Axle - Trailer Axles and Running Gear Components - Nev-R-Lube Bearings

I have them on my trailer. I was told by trailer company, if there is no signs of oil leaking out, leave them alone. I believe there is a 5 year warranty, and 10 extended warranty available. Those hubs a pressurized to help keep moisture out.

Maybe they called mine sealed hubs. The trailer manufacturer rep. Claimed no maintainence.

Nothing really to see with a picture but Majic Tilt has a web site you could get information or find out how to contact someone there for info. That's what I did to find out about them. I was just curious about someone's personal experience. I was just not comfortable with the no maintainence thing. By the way I have never tried to post pictures, I need to try it.
