After you have charged them let them sit for a day then measure the voltage.

well I started charging the 27 and noticed the side was starting to bulge brought that back real quick. both are duralast ...well at least the 24 is now no bulging on this one yet. thinking maybe interstate for a 27 deep . looking for a deep cell that will have a long trolling time.

Interstate and Duralast are the same batteries. If you want a long trolling time, go with a 29 or 31, not a 27.

amazing how many brands of batteries are out there when they're all made by 2 or 3 manufacturers. there should be a law that states where the battery is made should be posted on each one in a letter size easy to find and read.

I believe the Duralast 27DP is the equivalent of the Interstate 27M-XHD. They are 800CCA and ~180 minute RC with a 12 month warranty vs. The Interstate 27PRO at 675CCA and 180 minute RC with an 18month warranty.

Just as an FYI to any Mercury owners reading: That Duralast 27DP or Interstate 27M-XHD is one of the very rare 27 series batteries capable of meeting the requirements for newer Mercury outboards.
