    Default Going from 12/24 to a 24volt

My old trolling motor was a 12/24 and now have a 24volt, but I don't think I'm getting the 24v. The current setup has 4 wires(black , black with blue stripes, yellow and red) coming out of the receptacle. They then run to the batteries with one battery having a black and red and one battery having black/stripes and yellow. There is no jumper between batteries. Am I getting 24 volts or just 12 with this set up? How should I wire it to get 24? Thanks

Generally when there is no jumper at the batteries the jumper is inside the connector at the front.

Without seeing it, nobody can tell you whether it is wired right, but you can verify it. If you used the same pins on the same connector, it should be right. You can verify it by measuring on the back side of the TM plug with a meter.

How would I test it? What reading should I get?

The easiest way is to pull the back shell off the TM side connector and use meter to measure on the wires that are hooked up. You should see 25.3V or more for a 24V hookup. 12.65V to about 14.7V would indicate a 12V hookup.
