Been thinking about adding the 3 step ladder to my bassboat, can't get this old body in the boat without it. Want to mount on tramson.
Want to add ladder on back of boat transom. Wondering if others are using 2 step or 3 step ladder. Even though it will stick up higher, thinking three step... as I get older, just not sure I could get my legs/knees up high enough with a 2 step ladder. What are your thought?

Think mine is 2 step but the bottom step is pretty deep when let down, came in handy this spring when a buddy fell out. It worked fine and he was wrapped up for cool weather too. Lowe should have some factory models that would just bolt on to your boat.

It really depends on upper body strength vs. body weight more than your legs. You kind of lay back and get a foot in the ladder, then you let that leg collapse as you pull yourself forward and upright and finally stand up. If you are a big guy, or have shoulder, arm or hand problems that make it difficult to pull yourself, you might want more steps.
It takes a little practice, so it's worth doing it a few times when the water is warm and somebody is there to help.
Here is the ladder I have installed on the back of my G3. It does take a lot of upper body strength to get into the boat with just the 2 rung. I do like how it is out of the water when not needed, but I can flip it in when I do need it . With that being said, there will be a swim platform installed in place of that ladder this winter.
If 1 is better than none, and two better than 1, I would go with Three!

If you dont have the upper strength, expecially with wet clothes. If you have trim, put your foot on the cavation plate and hold the cowling. Hit the trim button and it will lift you and you can get in the boat
