    Default 200 Mercury year?


    How can I tell what year motor is on my new to me 1989 Charger? I was told it was a 2004 but the motor cover doesn't look like it. The label on the mount is not readable.

    Serial number should be stamped on the tag on the motor. One piece cowling or 2 piece?

    Newer motors don't have tags, John. My 2001 Merc has a sticker on the mount.
    That cowling don't look anything like mine.
