Unbelievable. I feel so stupid. This is the start button on the side of the shift lever. One press and motor turns right over.

It's got a mechanical neutral safety feature, not electronic. It swings out of position and won't press the hidden button behind it when it's not in neutral. No label on it and it don't even look like a button. Unreal.

The other button is the fuel enrichment button. It clicks on a little solenoid thing here to prime some fuel in the intake. ATTACH]141408[/ATTACH]

    A little more clear.

And no wonder I could not find a "electronic" neutral safety switch. There is none, it's mechanical.

I keep pressing that enrichment button and I never get any richer! lol

Well, it ain't "runnin" yet. I drained fuel tank and am cleaning and re-carpeting. And especially drying things out. Also, I started another thread about what just happened this morning on my other 40hp evinrude on the Tracker: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/mecha...ml#post2483383

Now I got two projects at once! doh

Projects are good. As long as you have time, lol. Thats my problem, time.

So I'm assuming the key is just to turn on the engine and accessories??

Yeah that's the button I was referring to, even though I said "port". I was thinking left as you are looking at the motor trying to start it.

When starting that motor you need to make sure the bulb is pumped hard or the "enrichener" will do nothing.

I hooked up the gas/battery and it started right up. Yay. At least I got one boat working, now if I can finish the front deck in time to take it to the Talquin slabfest this coming weekend! We'll see how it all works out.
