Sounds like it is not low enough in the water yet, start lowering it one inch at a time.
Alrite guys, I need some help. I have a 200 Merc on a 18.5 foot Astro and am looking for the sweet spot in my set up. Was told to put the center on the cone 5 1/2 inches below level of the keel at the back. This aint working, has a hard time coming out of the hole, wants to porpoise with very little trim, rides ruff in a good chop, and fuel mileage SUX!!!! I love the way this hull fishes but if I cant get it set up better it will have to go. I am running a 4 blade 14X26 stainless prop and not having any RPM issues at all.
Thanks in advance!!

With that 200 it should fly out of the hole. Once you find the sweet spot it won't take much to make it move.

Thats what I am hoping for, would run 67 on the other hull and never got it maxxed out, too much for that hull. This hull is a completely different design, lowered it down an inch and a half little while ago and gonna go to the lake either Sat or Sunday and tinker with it. Will report back on the results.

x2 on the 3.5 Most pad boats will end up with the propshaft 3.5 to 3.25 below the pad.

that's right--dang near forgot your's is a fish and ski--so you can't trim down enough to get rid of the porpoising?
I know that if you can get your pad to shaft up enough your fuel burn will be better. Typically the lower you put it--it's a better ride in rough water.
can't figure out the porpoising at anything other than wot--kinda strange.
probably because of too much weight in the back with all those big heavy batterys Rees has back there
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.
