Fin, I bought strained coated wire from Lowe's and smallest U clamps I could buy. Cabelas also sells a replacement, but it's kind of costly. Go to their website and you should see it. If you use a rope it's just gonna break again . Good luck..... Crappie1133

    Great idea!
So how do you get to the place where it connects?
I don't see an access point.
Does the TM have to be removed from the boat to replace the rope

Fin, I didn't have to do anything but run wire through the hole it came out of. The item is called a Trick Rope Replacement Cable at Cabelas #1k-019510, cost 19.95.

I had a MG and the pull rope broke while the TM was deployed. NOT fun trying to get it back in the stowed position without the pull rope. Don't really remember how I fixed it but check out utube. Should be some videos on how to replace it. When was looking for replacement rope, I read where some people just used a certain size braided rope and tied knots where needed to secure the rope. I do remember I had to tie my new rope around a short piece of metal that was attached to a spring with the short piece of metal sliding in a slot that locked/unlocked the shaft from the main mount. I also saw several ads for the unbreakable ropes made from steel cable or something similar so google can help you there. I ended up just using some braided rope from Lowes/HD and worked fine. I did make another pull rope to have in the boat since they are prone to breaking. Have a Terrova now, so don't have this issue now. GL

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
