Default problem with trim on alumicraft

I tried to tilt my motor up to take out the transom brace. All it wanted to do was click I don't believe it to be the battery because the motor turns over fine. Could it be a wire curoded over or do they have solenoids that can go bad.

trim solenoid has gone bad...you have two one for up and one for down.....so for a quick test....just swap solenoids and then you can verify it.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Take something like a large screwdriver and use the handle to gently tap on side of motor as you hit the switch. Sometimes the brushes will stick and motor won't run. Do not beat on it very hard because you can on some motors knock the magnets loose.
