A 42 inch bottom is fine . I fished out of a 1436 war eagle for yrs . there are times when jigging timber that a boat that size is needed . shallow crappie can be easily caught from a one man( 8 ft.) boat .You can put in sloughs, creeks, backwater ect . I used to wade fish and leave the boat tied to a tree . larger boats are more suited to troll, longline ect or jig open water (jmo)best I can tell a fellow needs at least three boats . this is the largert boat I will ever own .Name: Video 29 0 00 00-01.jpg

If you look long enough you could find an older bass tracker like mine. 1985 tournament v-17 with a Johnson 50.
