After fishing all day after we get in from fishing and put boat up usually like to charge batteries back up before next trip.Have been real busy with work and have to leave boat batteries charging.like to charge 8 hours.Cannot be their in 8 hrs to shut off batteries may be a week before I can get back to turn battery charger off.Have a 24 volt system onboard chargers. Is their a timer I can get to shut these off or will my charger go to trickle charge is this safe for the batteries any suggestions would be apprecated. Is their another method maintain a full charge?

Depends on the charger. What exactly are you using?

Depends on the charger most onboard charges are automatic and will charge the battery until full then shut off, and as rthe battery goes down from the charger being hooked up then it will kick on and trickle charge the batteries

I would check the manual. You might be able to find one on the internet. I'd probably replace it since it is kind of old and you have to be gone so long and have to trust the charger for a week at a time. But that's just me.

You can leave that one pluged in and charging. This is from the operating instructions

    PRODUCT SUMMARY
    General Operation:
Use the following guidelines in this manual to install your fully automatic PCS battery charging system.
Assure that the area around your charger and batteries is properly ventilated. Connect your extension
cord with no AC power present to the battery charger and proceed to plug your extension cord in at a
    nearby 120VAC outlet.
Once you plug in your PCS battery charging system, your batteries will be simultaneously and
independently charged to 100%. Unlike systems that utilize one large charger to attempt to charge
multiple batteries, your system utilizes a totally independent battery charger for each battery. Each
charging bank will remain in a “float” stage once the battery is charged and then monitor and/or maintain
    the battery indefinitely.
We recommend that you leave your system plugged in. This will reduce sulfation on the lead plates of
the batteries and allow your PCS charging system to keep your batteries fully maintained and ready to
    perform at their best

Dual pro are excellent chargers . Remember to add distilled water to your batteries during the year. Also watch the lights on the charger . If one will not come to a full charge this normally means that battery is bad.
