    Default Trailer wiring trouble

I've got a Ranger trailer, having trouble with the lights. My wires coming from the trailer are 5 & have 4 wire plug, coming from truck. I've been having trouble with the lights going off and thought it was my pigtail coming from a 04 Chevrolet truck, change the pigtail still haven't trouble. The wires coming from the pigtail,is brown, white, yellow, green. The ones coming from boat trailer,is yellow, white, green, yellow & brown and a green & brown. The brown wire is the hot wire coming from truck, when I matched all the wires the green with the green, yellow with yellow, the yellow&brown with the brown,I get lights on the right side by looking from the front to back but no left side lights,ok when I hooked the green & brown to the brown I get lights on the left side but no right side lights. I cannot get both sides burning at the same time, when either side is burning, turn the signal light on the running lights blink also. I have try the wires different ways still same results. Anyone know what I am doing wrong or any suggestions. Thanks,

Most of my trailer wiring problems have been ground problems.
