Default Evinrude 6 h.p. "Fisherman" help

My son bought a Evinrude 6 h.p. "Fisherman" motor last year, it is in nice shape and runs good.....however he broke the "forward-neutral-reverse" lever. So I have two questions for anyone who can help me out here.

1.) How do I get the broken lever off?....my son and I have both tried to find a pin, allen screw, bolt.....anything that holds the lever on but have had no luck.

2.) Where can I buy a new/used lever to replace the broken with?

I found a picture on the net of a similar motor for viewing purposes.

    Thanks for any help.

The shift lever if memory serves me correctly is under the powerhead....so bad news is the powerhead has to come off to get at the parts, and I doubt that it is avalible from the manufactor. When OMC went under in 02 and Bombardier took over many of the old parts have just gone away so you may have to look on ebay of a salvage yard fot the mid section of the same motor for the parts. It is cast so having it welded is tough , I had had welders tell me that cast is very hard to weld because it is so porious
