    Default Plugging holes from transducer

I have a new fish finder on the way and will be removing the old transducer that will leave two small holes in the bottom of the boat. How can I plug these? Would JB weld work?

I just used a little marine sealant and put the screws back in. No problem.

Use Marine Tex epoxy to fill them and you will never have to worry about it again. It is a two part epoxy and is some fantastic stuff. Comes in gray and white. The gray stuff is a little stronger and harder once cured. Another option is to have the holes welded if it's aluminum. Any decent welding shop should be able to do it.

I'll second the Marine Tex above. Buy the small container of the stuff. Clean the holes with acetone and apply. The stuff sets within about 30 minutes and when cures is very, very strong. The other option that many people use is to clean with acetone, fill the hole with 3M 5200 marine adhesive (which is permenant) and then re-insert the screws. Either will creae a waterproof seal that is permenant-the Marine Tex just looks a little cleaner.

I squirted some marine silicone in the holes and forgot about it. My transom doesnt contain wood anyway.
