add what more height you need. bolt it on the transom and brace what you raised to the back seat so it will take the stress of the motor pulling on the transom. shouldn't be a big problem or expense.

T & H Marine makes a little fixed jackplate you can bolt onto the boat and then mount the motor to it. It just a little light duty setback plate basically. I don't remember how much vertical rise it gives you but it does lift the motor up and sets it back about 4" or so. My buddy boat a boat years ago and when they ordered the motor for it they messed up and ordered a long shaft. The dealer used one of these to get the motor back up where it needed to be and it worked just fine.
X2,take a look at this and see if this will work, had a friend that used a mercury 15hp on his boat and it worked great!!!!
