Back yard mech here, but looks like you have to get new one. It (teeth) should not separate from flywheel (sorry)

you might want to contact a mercury dealer and explain what happen it looks to me that the weld broke on flywheel
they might have a better answer for what to do!!!

That ring fear is pressed onto the flywheel, just like a car. The flywheel will have to come off to fix it. Best advice is take it to a good mechanic. Good luck.

Yea it has happened twice and i pressed it back on with C clips but it has popped off again and im back to it agin it needs fixed right

If it has come off a couple of times your probably gonna need a flywheel. You could remove the flywheel , put it in the freezer for a couple hours , and before you take it out use a torch to heat the gear, not red hot, just hot, lay the flywheel upside down , use channel locks to pick up the ring gear and tap it on , it will go one very easy, but it needs to be staked in place after it cools to keep it from spinning.

Back in the old days, you would need to heat the ring gear up so it would expand. Then drop it over the flywheel. Once it cooled, it would be locked on. Not sure if they do that now, but it wouldn't matter as I would assume your ring gear has expanded too much. Might be able to have some one tack weld it on.

most welders that are good i think it would be so close, balance problem would not be there!!!
