Thnks. Bob,I had a Yamaha 30 on another boat and it was the best dang motor I had ever owned!I had that motor over 10 yrs. and you could bump start it even the day I sold it! A tune-up and a pump impeller was all I ever did to it! That was before ethanol though. Those yammers made all the other manufacturers wake up and take notice with 3 yr. warranty, 100:1 oil mixture, and the first counter rotating motors for off-shore boats. Some of the looking that I have done lately puts Mercury50 out there by way of top-end, hole shot, weight, fuel economy.Even the Merc 60 did not produce that much more hp. for the buck!

When ever someone goes with me I always tell em "when she farts she'll run just fine". I guess what I am calling a "fart" is what you are calling a "sneeze". I guess I need to have the carbs run through??.

86 115 Yamaha. Stater been replaced, powerpack been replaced, carbs rebuilt, and 2 years ago, she all but locked up on me. Replaced with a remanned engine block and was back on my way. still running that motor today. It has never left me on the water. It has always either started right at the ramp, or not. Never got me out and then died or not start back.CF
