LED's are the only way to go. Spend the money and get over the pain...you'll be happier.:o

I bought a set of led's and installed on my trailer yesterday. It was wearing me out keeping bulbs in them. Autozone 39.99 and it included the trailer wiring harness with frame clips, license plate bracket, the whole deal. I wasn't necessarily going to go with led's when I went in there, but they didn't have the brackets to go with the round, sealed tail light that I usually use. I don't know if the sealed would have been any cheaper since I was going to have to buy the round-hole brackets also.

Now I know lots of folks are gonna comment about bearings not getting warm if they are properly lubed. But why chance it. Same reason I change my oil every 6,000 miles. Dont really need to, but the last auto that I had had 450,000 miles on it when I drove it to the junk yard. sometimes those little extra precautions pay off.
If you drove it, why to the junk yard?

While I love to DIY, I got fed up with my 'stock' lights and bought LEDs at Harbor Freight Tools 5 years ago and haven't had a ounce of problem with them. Several companies are getting into LEDs now (with Optronics being one of the best) and the prices are getting pretty good if you shop around a bit. I recently got LED side lights and will install them soon.

I was looking at some self adhere LEDs designed for dressing up cars at Autozone and was thinking they might do good under my transom for crappie lights they come in white and blue for about $15 a set. Anyone tried that?
